Selling to us
Stanford Fine Art specializes in American paintings and drawings from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. We are always interested to view work for possible sale or consignment. Before contacting us about your artwork, please find answers to as many of these questions as possible:
• Artist’s name or initials
• Size, without frame
• Signature, and where signed or initialed
• Location depicted in the painting, if known
• Any labels or inscriptions
• Where acquired
• Condition, if known, including any repairs or inpaint
We offer verbal appraisals at no charge. There is an hourly fee for written appraisals. For personal visits by a gallery representative the fee increases. Any appraisal materials, including photographs and all pertinent information should be sent with attention to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please allow about two weeks from the time we see the work or receive the materials for the appraisal to be processed.
The gallery takes works for consignment on a very discriminating basis. The gallery sets up consignments on a net basis to the owner. We suggest that it is realistic to set up a six month consignment period. We do insure all works on consignment.
We have two individuals who have successfully completed the 15-hour Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) certification course and have extensive knowledge and experience in the field of fine arts.
Are you looking for a specific piece for a gift? Are you looking to start a collection with a particular focus or further build your collection? We can help to find the piece or pieces you need.
We can accommodate a variety of framing needs and tastes for works of art you acquire from us or that you already own.
Whether your art needs a light cleaning, repair to a frame, or mending of serious damage, we can help.
